Refill RVA was founded in August 2026 with the help of the people who believed in it first: my loved ones and my community. It started with an eye-opening realization that the brands I was learning about in school, and the opportunities they offered, didn't align with my values.

I moved to Richmond in 2023 to attend VCU, where I earned my bachelor's in marketing. But the more I studied, the clearer it became. I didn't want to put my labor toward fueling overconsumption or padding the pockets of billionaires at the top.

That’s why Refill RVA was born; a business built to normalize low-waste living in RVA and beyond. We exist to give our community a centralized, accessible hub for eco-friendly resources, education, and ethical swaps. Once operational in a brick-and-mortar location, we intend to partner with local organizations and brands that share our values of putting people and the planet first.

Every part of Refill RVA is deeply personal, right down to our logo. The flower featured in our design is a Forget-Me-Not, modeled directly after the matching tattoo I have with my mom. It stands in remembrance of my grandmother, who passed in 2020 due to Alzheimer’s. I wouldn’t be the woman I am today without her and my mom, and her memory inspires my deep commitment to protecting my family's health and our surrounding environment. Refill RVA would not be possible if it weren't for the support from my family.

Whether you're brand new to refilling and starting your low-waste journey, simply tired of paying way too much for your essentials, or shopping for the health of you and your loved ones, come see us. This is a judgment-free zone. The world needs more imperfect people who care, not a handful of perfect zero-wasters. Every small change matters. We all share one planet, and the climate crisis needs all of us. Join the refill revolution, say no to single-use plastics, and invest in a better future.

Our values

Transparency

We research and vet everything we offer, and we're honest about what we know and what we're still learning.

Community

We're built by and for the people of Richmond. We partner with local organizations and brands that share our commitment to people and the planet.

Planet over profit

We're here to make real change — locally and globally — not to fuel overconsumption. Every purchase is a vote for the world we want to live in.

Our mission

To normalize refilling and low-waste living as a way to combat climate change and create real, lasting change. To be a community hub for education and resources that makes low-waste living accessible to everyone, wherever they are in their journey. To be a trustworthy, reliable small business that uses the products they sell and cares about your health and the health of the planet.
